Dear Reader,

I am happy to announce the opening of my therapy practice serving children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in San Diego. I am passionate about helping people grow and feel their best. Every day I count it a privilege to do this meaningful therapy work for the benefit of my clients.

As a licensed psychologist in California (PSY29511) with extensive training and experience treating children and adolescents, I am professionally trained to address most emotional, social, and behavioral concerns that arise in ages 4 through 18. Another focus area of mine is helping young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and the transition to adulthood. Today’s young adults are facing challenges no previous generation has encountered. This group is the first generation that was born with cellphones in their hands. The advent of technology has imposed additional demands and complexities onto the already difficult journey to adulthood. The supportive therapeutic relationship can be a powerful anchor to empower a young adult to navigate their way in the world.

My background in systems training has taught me to consider the unique factors at play in the many different levels of a client’s problem (individual, relational, and contextual). This comprehensive picture allows me to tailor treatment of each client and family in a way that is in-depth and not just a “quick fix”. This approach also means I offer parenting support and am inclusive of parents while working with children and teens.

My aim is to provide caring, reliable, and expert help. Therapy is a place where my clients feel warmly accepted and can better understand their struggle in order to rise above it.

Please feel free to reach out and contact me. Should it turn out that my expertise is not a good fit for your needs, I will do my best to help you find a different therapy provider. I sincerely look forward to connecting with you!

Warmly,

Dr. Erin Elmore
